To use the Curaçao Express Pass you will need to verify your passport with the Airside Digital Identity App. 

Before getting started there are a few items to confirm:

• Make sure your passport is an e-Passport with a readable electronic NFC chip. E-Passports are identified by a gold square symbol on the front cover, located under the country of origin.

• Check your mobile device Settings to allow the app access to the camera and NFC chip reader.
• Find a stable, well-lit environment to avoid distortion or glare on the passport. Remove any external covers or holders from your passport.

Tap the Curaçao Express Pass tile in the Airside app and read the program information. Tap Continue. Tap Your ID, then tap Add ID. Review the information on the consent form and tap I Consent to start the verification process.

Step one: Follow prompts to take a Selfie.

Step two: Open your passport to the photo page and tap Scan Passport. Align the MRZ code at the bottom of the page with the blue bar on your phone to automatically capture the code.  If you have trouble scanning the MRZ code, try to find a glare-free space without direct light (i.e. under a table).

Step three: 

• For US Passports: Place your phone flat against the open passport, tap Read Chip, and move it slowly until you see three progress dots, then stop and wait for the read to complete. 
• For EU/UK Passports: Place your phone flat against the back cover of the passport, tap Read Chip, and move it slowly until you see three progress dots, then stop and wait for the read to complete. 
• Hint: Because passport chip and phone antenna locations vary, you may need to rotate your phone 90 degrees and/or try the passport’s center fold or back cover for a successful read. 

Step four: Review the information on the consent form and tap I Consent to verify your passport. Once complete, your passport information can be found under the Documents tab.

The Curaçao Express Pass is the world’s first mobile-based, pre-processing border crossing system. The program utilizes innovative traveler-controlled, contactless technologies, allowing visitors to prepare for their journey from home, and then enjoy the Curaçaoan spirit as soon as they land at the Curaçao International Airport (CUR).

It’s a quick three-part process. (1) After online check-in with the airline, travelers complete the Digital Immigration (DI) Card, and (2) use the free Airside Digital Identity App to verify and share passports with immigration officials. (3) Upon arrival at the airport, travelers may access a designated lane to simply show their faces to process through contactless eGates.

After completing the Digital Immigration (DI) Card for entry into Curaçao, you will be directed to download the Airside app to your iPhone or Android phone. Up to 7 days before arrival, you will verify and share your passport and biometrics with immigration. On the app:

1. Select or enroll your passport.
2. Select your arrival location and date, then tap Continue.
3. Provide permission to share your biometric information by tapping I Consent
4. Once you submit your information successfully, you’ll see a confirmation screen.
5. Look for the signs at the airport; you’re ready to use the Curaçao Express Pass lane!

If you have not completed the Digital Immigration Card, you cannot use the designated fast lanes at the airport. You can fill out the DI Card after completing the Airside process, so make sure to complete both steps before you arrive in Curaçao.

In the Airside app, tap Services at the bottom, then select Curaçao Express Pass. Tap the box with the consent you wish to revoke, then tap Revoke Consent, then Revoke Consent again to confirm. Your revoked consent will appear within the CuraçaoExpress Pass tile.

1. Time-saving: Go through the designated fast lane in the immigration hall, show your face to the camera, and enjoy Curaçao as quickly as possible.
2. Privacy and security: Your verified information is protected on your encrypted device. Only you can share the information with immigration. Data will only be available for the eGates on the day of travel and will then be automatically deleted.
3. Reusability: Enroll your passport once and use it each time you return to the island (or use any other Airside services). One and done!
